Last night, I had the privilege (thanks, Emily!) of attending a slideshow of travel photographer, Peter Guttman.  The event was thrown in his Upper West Side kitschy apartment by Peter, his wife - Lori and son Chase.  They were  definitely the most well traveled family I've ever met but also one of the friendliest & happiest families I've ever met.  The slideshow included over 1,000 photos with music & sound effects of their past adventures from the year including visits to New Zealand, Costa Rica, Dubai & even Connecticut.  The night was a lot of fun and inspiring - the slideshow started out (26 years ago!) as a way to share his photos with friends and has turned into a yearly event with multiple showings to crowds of over 60 people.  Below are some photos from the night. Thanks Emily for inviting us!

Their apartment is covered with tons of trinkets from their travels including these marionettes & the lion.

I can't believe it's almost 2012! 2011 was filled with a brief long distance relationship, lots of moving, and the birth of Favorable Mention! I'll be heading back home for some belated birthday celebrations and to puppysit Chloe! I hope you all have amazing new year's celebrations and I'll be posting a mini 2011 album soon :)

Yesterday we moved. and carried boxes. and sat in traffic. and possibly side swiped a car. But the good news is it's done! Last time we moved (only 3 months ago!) was a nightmare, so I think we have gotten a whole lot better at this whole moving thing! Happy December!

Special thanks to Matt, Ben, & Bri for their help - you guys made it so much easier...on Tim.

PS If any New Yorkers are trying to debate between Zipcar & Uhaul - go with Uhaul!! Better customer service & if you are moving within Manhattan you only pay per mile :)

Happy Friday! This week has been so crazy between work & looking for an apt.  Big thanks to Tim for keeping me sane and taking me out for drinks, coffee, and late night park chats!

Photo was taken earlier this week when I saw a random white balloon fly by my office window. Makes me feel happy!

Last night I watched the documentary Bill Cunningham New York.  Bill Cunningham is a well known fashion street photographer, he currently is in his 80's and still shooting, riding his bike, & working for the New York Times. He has shot fashion trends for WWD & Times and is loved by everyone in the fashion industry (including Anna Wintour).  It's hard not to fall in love with Bill - he hates money and wonders why anyone would ever want a bathroom & kitchen in their apartment.  It's available on Netflix & playing at the IFC Center here in NY.

Happy Halloween! Saturday morning we had no costumes and whipped them up in under 2 hours after braving a mini October snowstorm.  Halloween always seems a bit stressful to have a fun costume, but all in all, I think it was a success. Check out everyone's costumes below!

This week began our apartment search. We will once again be moving after a short but sweet sublet.  I found an amazing apartment in Brooklyn that's available later than we need it, so fingers crossed it's still available & can somehow work when we go and see it on Sunday! Have a happy fall weekend!

I had an amazing time at Emily & Scott's wedding Saturday night.  It was my first New York City wedding and it definitely felt like the perfect city wedding.  Emily did an amazing job planning all the details and did the most adorable dance with her dad.

Happy Friday!! Tomorrow I will be attending my first New York City wedding! Emily & Scott will be tying the knot at the Yale Club. I'm excited to see one of my close friends get married & also to get fancy! I will be sure to take some pictures to post on Monday.

Also, a big congratulations to Jewel & Patrick on their engagement! Can't wait to help you start planning, Jewel! :)

Happy, happy Friday! The weather is suppose to be perfect this weekend, so I'm excited to spend a laid back weekend in the city.
