Happy Friday // Meet Maya @ 10:54 AM
Happy Friday! This weekend is action packed - birthday party, a friend coming to visit, haircut, & Superbowl! Have a good one!
P.S. Meet Maya!
She's a super sweet kitty! She's been through a lot, her previous owner died and when they found her she was pregnant. They aborted her babies, so she still misses them a bit.
She loves being pet and has a gorgeous black coat. She uses the litter box like a champ & just started to play.
If you are interested in meeting/adopting her (we're just fostering) or know someone, please email me at favorablemention@gmail.com. Maya would do best with another cat because she loves company!

Cat Woman. @ 2:32 PM
If you asked me 10 years, 5 years, 5 months ago if I would ever have a cat - I'd probably say no. I'm a dog person but it seems 2012 is about the unexpected. I've been dying for a pet lately. And with the 3 different apartments in less than a year, I'm not sure one can fit into my lifestyle. So I decided to foster a cat with the blessing of my roommate & boyfriend. It makes sense right? New York City, small spaces, mice, easy to take care of (fingers crossed!). So last night, little Maya was dropped off. She's a bit shy and very vocal but you can tell she secretly wants to hang out. I haven't got a good picture of her yet, but I'll try to get one tonight.

New Year's Resolution #2 @ 8:57 AM
Just ordered one of these adorable 2012 planners from
Julia. The design is fun, clean - plus it's perfect for my endless to do lists & won't look embarrassing on the subway.
PS - Happy Friday (the 13th!!) and a long weekend (hopefully)! We have had our first official mouse sighting in the apt since we moved in, so I'm sure the next couple days will be all about setting traps and a little less sleep for me. Wish us luck!

Happy Halloween Weekend! @ 10:37 AM
Happy Friday! Wednesday night we carved pumpkins & drank some spiked apple cider.
Here's Matt working on his surfer pumpkin.
I still have no idea what Tim & I are being for Halloween, but we're hoping to figure it out tonight & head to the parade tomorrow Monday! I will be sure to take some photos!

on the run @ 8:51 AM
Ever wonder how the graffiti artists manage to get in to certain spaces & carry all their tools?
Check out this backpack that is made for spray cans, making it easier for people like
Banksy to be on the run.

it's here. @ 9:50 AM
Last night, New York City was struck with fall. Just like that. It was cold but it was also perfect cuddling weather ;) And today I have retired the flip flops and am back in my fall boots - here's to a quick winter!

Hot Pot @ 12:11 AM
Our new apartment has a nice teeny little balcony. Natural light is a hot commodity in NYC (sadly), so we are grateful it. Many of our neighbors have multiple grills down below and that is definitely a huge thing I miss, living in the city. I think I would grill every night if I could.
So when I came across this
Hot-Pot Barbecue, I was ecstatic. It's a small great design that you could hide from your landlord if needed :)

city love. @ 12:11 AM
Now that summer has slowly unwinded and quietly transitioned to fall, it's nice to spend a relaxing weekend home in the city.
Stopped by the post office to send off some much needed packages + letters ;)
Explored our new neighborhood & found some great markets.
I was treated with a nice fall dinner of Salmon, roasted potatoes, + acorn squash (my first time and I actually really liked it!).
City love.
Happy Monday.
PS Just finally bought and began reading
Scar Tissue,
a book about Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis. I am a few years late, but I can't put it down & love it already.

grub with us @ 12:11 AM
When living in a big city such as New York City, it's easy to meet people but it is hard to find a commonality with others and become more than acquaintances.
Grub with us is trying to change that. Grub with us is giving people a kick in the butt to get out there by pairing eating + socializing. You can buy a seat at a table (at a great price) and join some strangers for a good meal. You might not walk out with your best friend but I'm sure there's great conversation - and you never know who you'll meet! Check the
map to see if your city hosts Grub with us meals, if not - request it!
