I love everything about Molami - to their products, packaging & design. Swedish industrial designer Maria von Euler perfected these designer looking headphones down to the packaging (reminiscent of Apple products). I especially love the Twine style.
Artist Yayoi Kusama is making kids' dreams come true. With the setting of an all white home as the backdrop, Kusama invited kids to come and stick thousands of stickers down. Such a fun idea!
The new year always makes me reassess my closet - get rid of things I don't wear or items that don't fit. With the constant moving around in 2011, this task has been done three (different) times! Since then I have vowed to buy only classic, can't live without items. But these gorgeous handpainted silk blouses by Coinmatta (a workshop located in Milan, Italy) have me wishing I had a unique statement piece like this in my closet.
I immediately fell in love with Fifi Lapin. Fifi is by far the most fashionable bunny I've seen. Keep track of Fifi's outfits via the blog & if you are interested in purchasing anything from the shop - be sure to place your orders before Dec. 1st!
P.S. would make a perfect gift for a baby girl's room or a fashionable friend*
My 3 brothers & sister-in-law (Dan, Val, Paul & Anette) just recently opened up their Etsy shop No Outlet Group!! These t-shirts are made by hand using eco-friendly fabrics & inks. Their opening collection includes 7 iconic Depression-era silkscreened prints.
I love reading about what designers/entrepreneurs did in the past to get to where they are now. Matt Bernson used to work as a construction worker, but now he goes to work daily in his Tribeca studio creating hand crafted, high quality shoes. Not only are the shoes eco-friendly, they're elegant and casual - perfect for any occasion. Shop here. *I love his construction inspired boot.
Know someone that is not so computer savvy and could use a little simplicity in their life? Set them up an internet buttons page, it's free and it will make their life (and your life) a little bit easier.
Designing a logo can be a long, tedious process...designing 10,000? That is one big project. Nicole Meyer has set out to design a logo daily for each lake in Minnosota. Her logos are simplistic & creative, plus she'll be posting something to entertain you daily for the next 27 years! Here are a few of my favorites.
I recently gave one of these gorgeous Bellocq tea tins to a friend and I fell in love with them myself. They make me feel like I'm in the 1920's with this chic packaging, I kind of want to collect them all. Plus after the teas gone, these tins can serve as decoration or storage for anything else.
**BELLOCQ has just relocated their tea atelier to Greenpoint, Brooklyn and open today at 12pm :) Hooray!
Believe it or not, the artist, Peyton Turner, created these designs by hand using thousands of stickers. Old stickers that you might have collected when you were younger were implemented into these intricate designs.
I recently came across Brock Davis' work and was blown away. He cleverly executes each of his simple but brilliant ideas. Here's a few of my favorites.
I've been on the lookout for some floor pillows/cushions for our new studio and couldn't find anything I thought I'd still love in a few years....until these handknitted pillows. Knitted by Nepal women & made of high quality New Zealand wool, you might favor these pillows over your own bed.
Just fell in love with Alice Supply Co. cleaning supplies, created by former fashion industry executives Maria Barnes & Raili Clasen. Named after the lovable Brady Bunch housekeeper, Alice Supply Co. adds a little color to dull household chores.
I was completely blown away when I first saw this Magnetic DressUpDoll, even more so when I found out it was a gift for his girlfriend's birthday! The artist, Markus Olhafen is a graphic designer based in Austria.
"This personal project I did as a birthday present for my girlfriend. I remembered myself back to primary school, when we made small puppets out of cardboard which could be dressed with paper clothes. I thought a little bit about the idea and how it could be realised without using paper, because it doesn't last long. So I came up with the idea of magnetic foil on which can be printed."
Yesterday I had the privilege of having my Etsy Treasury on the main page! A Treasury is where you can collect some of your favorite things and coordinate them according to theme, color, or however you like. Here's my Art Class Treasury in case you missed it :) Be sure to try one out - it's a lot of fun!
